With the popularity of cell phones long distance phone bills aren’t as big of a problem as they once were. However, if you are calling from country to country then it might be an issue.
But if you have the internet, a microphone, headphones, or a mic/headphone combo set then I recommend you give Skype a try. Skype is a program that allows you to make computer-to-computer calls; and computer-to-phone call. The program is free if you are calling from computer to computer.
Even if long distance calls aren’t a problem I still like the program for it’s webcam feature. There’s nothing better than talking to your sweetie while being able to see them.
You can even get creative and schedule “dates” with each other.
Things That May Be Annoying
- Both of you have to have headphones or else there will be a serious echo.
- Sometimes they’ll be a bad connection which makes it hard to have a conversation.
- Occasionally the web cam will freeze and you’ll have to restart
- Some people are reluctant to try Skype because they’ve never heard of it.
