Miles Don’t Matter
The Montreal Gazette has a nice little feature about long distance relationships.
Marrying into the military, as Tiger writes, means “marrying into a potentially indefinite long-distance relationship.” And that’s not always bad. As one military wife told her: “I truly believe having him gone so much makes me appreciate him being home even more. The simplest of things seem that much better just having him home to enjoy it with me.”
That’s very true. When you have the person with you day after day you tend to take them for granted; but when you don’t see them consistently you don’t have that luxury. Yet, even though it can make you appreciate the time more, I wouldn’t want to live my life like that forever. For awhile it’s ok but I need more stability than that.
Hats off to all the military spouses who do it all the time!
