Take a Peek Into the Journal

Posted by LD Diva on September 5th, 2007

I am a big fan of writing letters because it helps you express things that you may not normally express verbally. But here’s an idea I’ve always liked that helps you take the letter writing one step further.

You each get notebooks and write in them a few times per week. You can write how you day went, or how you are thinking about them; it doesn’t matter, just write. Then when you see each other switch notebooks. That way you won’t have to leave feeling as “bleh” because you’ll have the book to take in the car, on the train, or on the plane with you. You know what happens next- you start writing in that book. Respond to what they’ve written, tell them how much you miss them, etc. Then the next time you see each other…switch again.
