If you don't both offer to "be the one" that moves, then there may be a problem as well. Strong relationships are made from those that give of themselves. If your partner insists that you be the one to move, be very sure it is real. You'd not be very happy moving back in 6 months and having to start all over.

I'm in the process of having this discussion w/ my boyfriend...we've known each other for one year, on and off again for 6 months and then monogamous for 4 months while we're in a LDR. He lives in the Northeast, I in the Southeast. My family and friends are here....his family is here...but he is "happy" living and working in his hometown. I don't have to work in the S.E. but his connections are in the N.E....his passion is to coach...I have a JOB. We are going to visit each other for the 4th of July and he has menitoned talking about "the move" ....but it's geared towards me to the NE......what to do? We love each other, want to marry and have babies...only distance is between us at the moment....suggestions?

I am in a long distance relationship. I met my boyfriend online. We live over 900 miles away but this will be our 5th visit since August! So far so good. Just when I was going to give up on love again, I have met someone special!
We are biologically engineered to fall in love and that is the reason why free online dating sites will always flourish provided they maintain quality of service and respect privacy.
The only thing that concerns me is that he lives in Michigan and boy is it cold there!!
