Advice: Arguments, Private School, and No Car
Q: My boyfriend and I start liking each other since sept 2007 and somehow we didn’t work out and we argued for 4 months and I decided to give up. Jan 2008 somebody asked me out and my boyfriend got so jealous and he’s been trying to steal me and I realize I was in love and broken up with my ex-boyfriend for my current boyfriend. We started dating on March 18, 2008 and somehow his parents decide to put him to other school. We’ve been ldr for almost 5 months but i live in private school and they wouldn’t let me out because I’m under 18. He doesn’t drive yet and his parents just wouldn’t bring him here to see me because they work. What can we do?
A: Focus on school and enjoy having a friendship with this boy. If you can’t see him, write him. If you can’t get to the post office, send him emails. Do you drive? Then visit him occasionally but I wouldn’t make this situation a priority in my life right now; and hopefully all the things you do won’t be one sided.
Sometimes we think that if people aren’t bending over backwards to help foster our relationships that they “just don’t understand” and other things. Sometimes that’s true but when you are a teenager you have to be the one to understand that parents do know what they are talking about most of the time.
Enjoy life. Find some hobbies. There’s no need to get stressed out over relationships this soon. You have the rest of your life to worry.
